Keywords: English Course, HMI, Motivation, and Learning English.
Learning English at this time becomes a necessity for everyone, especially the younger generation remember English has been recognized as an international language. In learning English is not from a motivation for someone to be more active in the learning process whether it is internal or external. In the world of campus there are several organizations that can motivate and support in the learning process either internal or external campus. HMI is an extra campus organization that has the goal of developing academic people, creators, devotees who breathe Islam and are responsible for the realization of a just and prosperous society in Allah's blessings.
There are two focuses of research in this study. The first is how The Implementation of English Course which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan HMI in increasing the University Students’s motivation in learning and the second, How the roles of English course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN in increasing the University Students’s motivation in learning English.
In this study, researchers used qualitative research. Qualitative research deals with life as it is lived, the real situation, the life experience or things that happen in the case. This study will focus primarily on the role of HMI in increasing the University Students’s motivation in learning English through English which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan 
The results of this study indicate that the role of HMI in increasing Students' English learning motivation with several steps with arranged the course and always give an understanding that the English language is very important and the course that is held by the board itself is KABID PPPA (research, development, and coaching the members) and secretary in the implementation of the course using the method of discussion and it is very liked by the cadres.
Based on the research result, the role of HMI in improving the motivation to learn English is very effective with the course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan,because not all the cadres are English majors and it gets good enthusiasm from the cadres.

Belajar bahasa Inggris pada sekarang ini menjadi kebutuhan bagi setiap orang khususnya generasi muda mengingat bahasa Inggris telah diakui sebagai bahasa internasional. Dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris tersebut tidak dari sebuah motivasi agar seseorang akan lebih giat dalam proses belajar entah itu internal maupun eksternal. Dalam dunia kampus ada beberapa organisasi yang dapat memotivasi dan mendukung dalam proses belajar baik internal kampus atau eksternal. Hmi merupakan organisasi ekstra kampus yang mempunyai tujuan terbinanya insan akademis, pencipta, pengabdi yang bernafaskan islam dan bertanggung jawab atas terwujudnya masyarakat adil makmur yand di ridhai Allah SWT.
Ada dua fokus penelitian dalam penelitian ini. Yang pertama adalah Bagaimana pengimplementsian kursus bahasa inggris yang diadakan oleh Komisariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan dan yang kedua, Bagaimana peran kursus bahasa Inggris yang di adakan Komisariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris.
Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian kualitatif berkaitan dengan kehidupan seperti yang dijalani, situasi sebenarnya, pengalaman hidup atau hal yang terjadi dalam kasus tersebut. Penelitian ini akan berfokus terutama pada peran HMI dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris melalui kursus bahasa Inggris yang di adakan oleh komisariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran HMI dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa inggris mahasiswa dengan beberapa langkah di antara dngan mengadakan kursus serta selalu memberikan pemahaman bahwa bahsa inggris sangat penting dan kursus yang di adakan itu disi oleh pengurus sendiri yaitu KABID PPPA (Penelitian, Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Anggota) dan sekretarisnya dalam pelaksanaanya kursus tersebut menggunakan metode diskusi dan itu sangat di sukai oleh para kader.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peran HMI dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa inggris sangat effective dengan adanya kursus yang dia dakan di komisariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan karena tidak semua kader itu jurusan bahasa inggris dan itu mendapat antusias baik dari para kader.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

In this chapter the researcher explains about research context, research focus, research objective, scope and limitation of research, significances of research and definition of key terms.

A. Research Context
English is an international language which many people use it to communicate each other.  Thus why every people must acquire it in order to make their business easy even to study, to travel, or to join business to the other country. In Yunsirno’s book, Weber stated that English is the only one language which should be acquired because it is used by 115 countries in the world. The fantastic number if comparing with other language, taken example like French which is only used by 35 countries or Arabic which is only used 24 countries in the world.  From the number above, English becomes the important language to be learnt by every country includes Indonesia.
In English learning, there are four language skills which are learnt by the students, they are reading, speaking, writing, and listening. It deals with Jeremy’s statement that writing as one of four skills. The skills are listening, speaking, reading, and writing have always formed part of syllabus in teaching of English.  Getting knowedge about english language must not by formal education but it can get in informal education like a english course in one institution and the other. Is there which get by join in organization who know in intra-college organization or in extra-colege organization.
In the learning process there must be a motivation because mutivasi learning is encouragement and semanagat individual individuals / groups who do learning activities to achieve learning achievement for the better. Motivation to learn is needed so that someone can direct and manage his behavior to a better direction that ultimately can improve learning achievement.
In the word of the University students there are some organizations which are support learning process and it is differenced by intra-campus organization and extra-campus organization. In intra-campus organization, those are: UKK KOPMA, TEATER FATARIA, UKM MUSIK, LPM etc. While in extra-campus like HMI, GMNI, PMII etc. Furthermore, it just Islamic association of university students (HMI) which will be explained in increasing the Students motivation on study especially in learning English. HMI is one of the oldest of Islamic extra-campus organization which was built by Lafran Pane, in Jogjakarta at 5 February 1947 M. Furthermore the purpose of HMI creates academicc human, creator, official, which breath Islam and responsibility for the realization of prosperous just society which is blessed by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. 
There is relationship between the purposes of HMI which was explained above, HMI as container to the student university process to growing their knowledge which was got in college or get in HMI. To increase the University Student’s motivation on study in HMI have some ways which can be the habit like discussion, reading and writing. So that student’s spirit will be grow by it because in HMI will be force by senior and partner which is there in HMI, so they will be motivated itself and other people to spirit on study.
HMI have a specific program to increase the students motivation in learning English namely English course which do by KABID PPPA (research, development, coaching members) HMI STAIN Pamekasan. The English course followed by all of members of HMI its amount is 370 members but, this  more specific to FKI (forum of humanity study). FKI is limited group which is under shade of HMI STAIN Pamekasan, its members are new members was joined in HMI. The English course do twice in a week namely on Thursday and Friday Today. So HMI want all of members to know English language which is very important in this moment.
This research is very important, because HMI become a container to get knowledge about English language which is did not get in campus to them are not English major. HMI give more experience and motivation so that more spirit to study especially in learning English. Because learning English can get in formal school but can get in non formal like English course which is do by HMI STAIN Pamekasan because Learning English is very important because English has become an international language, which is used by most communities in the world. Many countries use English as their second language. In spite of the difficulties in studying English, it is worthwhile to study the language because it plays a very important role in almost all fields of life such as: communication, commerce economy, politics, education, science, technology and so on.  So that HMI has initiative to do English course although just twice in a week.
English course which is doing by HMI is one application of the aim of HMI as extra-campus organization and force a member more spirit on study English although unformally, because English course is one of non formal education which is having a purpose to help society in increasing English speaking skill. As international communication, English language, must be mastered actively or passively, orally or writing. Because in this modern era, some information, technology, used English language. Face the challenge, so the human society must ready to be human resources who ability in field of communication, namely use English language.
Think of the important the English language HMI try to prepare to all of member of them in order to all cadres have a container to learn English language although they are not English department in STAIN college, because is not impossible there are some cadres have a wish to learn English language but they cannot choose two department. So HMI especially the organizer of HMI have initiative to arranged the English course program.
In the previous study, which is also in STAIN Pamekasan, one of the student has researched about “Interesting to Study of Islamic association of University Student (HMI) at STAIN Pamekasan academic year 2014-2015” by Hernan Mohni used qualitative approach. The result of his study there are two points. The first is interesting to study of Islamic association of University Student can be called is good, base on all of their energy to keep their consistent of interesting to study. The second is there are some ways which was doing by presidium management to increase a interesting to study of Islamic association of university student STAIN Pamekasan whit organize a considerable on study of HMI at STAIN Pamekasan itself. 
Therefore, from phenomenon above the researcher want to research with title The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English.

B. Research Focuses
John W. Creswell said that research problem is an educational issue, or concerns that guide the need for conducting study.  Problem of the study is the form of research questions. It is often called the research questions where the answer is obtained after doing the research. It is an attempt to state explicitly about the questions that want to look for the answer.
Research focus is a problem must be answered by researcher through his study. In this case the Researcher has some questions:
1. How is the implementation of English course which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in increasing the university student’s motivation in English learning?
2. How is the roles of English Course Which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English.

C. Research Objectives
Research objectives should be stated differently from the research problems, as the research problems are stated as questions to be answered by the researcher, while the objectives are stated as the goal of research to be achieved by the researcher. 
According to the research focuses above, the result will be conducted as follows:
1. To know the Implementation of English course which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in increasing the university student’s motivation in English learning.
2. To explain the roles of English Course Which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English.

D. Significance of Study
Significance of study states the implication of the findings for educational practice or theory.  Significance of study also discussion the potential contributions of the study to organized body of knowledge in education.
1. Theoretical significance
To provide additional reference about The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English.
2. Practical significance
a. For the University Students
The researcher hopes this study could stimulate to the University Students to increase in follow Islamic association of University Students (HMI).
b. For Further Researcher
This research can give additional knowledge for the researcher about the Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English. In addition, it is expected able to help the further researcher in conducting the next research.
c. For the Reader
The research will be useful to the reader to know The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English.
E. Scope and Limitation of Research
According to oxford, scope is “Range of things that a subject, an organization, etc. deals with”.  So, from the definition of scope based on oxford the researcher have a definition of scope as the subject of research including population of study. While limitation is potential problems with the study that will be identified by researcher. And based on the definition of scope and limitation above the researcher determines scope and limitation of the research as follow:
Scope of this research is focusing on Student’s motivation in learning English. Limitation of this research is focusing on the Students STAIN Pamekasan who has joined in HMI.

F. Definition of Key Terms
Definition of keys terms are provided to avoid misunderstanding and misinterpretation of difficult words for the reader in classify about key term. So, to avoid misunderstanding of the reader, the researcher would like to give explanation about the key terms of the study.
1. English Course is one of  non formal education which is also do learning process to be understand English language.
2. HMI is the college Students Organization which support learning process.
3. Motivation is a suggestion or encouragement that comes from being given by someone to another person or from yourself, the impulse intends that the person becomes a better person than the previous one. Motivation can also be interpreted as an underlying reason an  act done by a person to achieve certain goals.
4. Learning English is teaching and learning process formally or informally which the purpose to be mastered in English language.




























CHAPTER II
REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

The researcher focuses on explains about theory about HMI, motivation, learn, English course.
A. Theoretical Study
1. English Course
a. Definition of English Course
English Course is a training institute which included into the types of non formal education units which consist of course institution, training institute, study group, learning center, and the assemble of study group and educational unit of it is kind. 
In other definition English Course is an institution of teaching process English specific for try to ability the Students in foreign language that is done certain time.  So, from this definitions, can be conclude that, English course is learning process English language, it just not the same with formal education like in the University, but the purpose is likely to be understand English language.

b. The Goal of English Course
The goal of English course there are five kinds as follow:
1) Provide knowledge and skill in a comprehensive English language, improving communication skills in English.
2) Provide English language learning experience interesting to participants through an interactive method.
3) Instill a spirit of cooperation among the residents learned.
4) Addressing the problems faced in the subject of English at the School.
5) Increase the sense of England confidence and interest participant in learning and using language. 
Base on statements above, the program English course intended to improve their English language skill in comparative manner that includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing. English program is also intended to help participants in work assignment and test artipation/test subjects of English at School. HMI want all of member know and increase their knowledge by arranged the English course because in this age it is very inportant, and also the english language is international language so the organizer have a initiative to do english course. By the ways or stragies which will do by HMI the University student’s motivation will grow up, because learning about language is complex with some phenomenon peculiar untill is not amazed if it have different meanings to every people. 

2. Islamic Association of University Students (HMI)
a. Definition
Islamic association of university student, in shortening is HMI, have built in Yogyakarta at 05 February 1947, which is pioneering by young man Lafran Pane, (1922-1921), who is student of (STI). Until now, HMI is the oldest and the biggest university student organization in Indonesian. This organization has join active to battle in the middle of life this nation congenital up to now. This is not release from its role as struggle organization which is want to a changing and innovation in all life area, HMI recognized by wide of among society, Governmental, Young man, Student, and intelligentsia. 
Especially in at university and intelligent of  HMI is not strange. Beside that HMI basically at university, it activity in college bring the image of this organization to make popular. The following of construct a life of university, as extra organization of university, has given a color to intellectual life Indonesian. It is not cause amazement if there are many alumnus of HMI. HMI has joined and accompany to be a scholar who has a conception is Moslem, Indonesian, and young.
And also HMI has joined in fighting for this nation to get it purpose concretely. Participation of HMI in building a nation since born until now include to three type:
1) Participation in building situation and management human resource.
2) Participation in given some concepts in some sectors of life.
3) Participation in implementation. 

b. History of HMI STAIN Pamekasan
Islamic association of University Students (HMI) Branch of Pamekasan komisariat STAIN Established By Mr. Ernomo on July 1964, HMI Branch office STAIN Commissioner was built because depart from discomfort of university student of STAIN Pamekasan themself, a minimum of container student buffetings at the time made him take the initiative to built HMI In STAIN Pamekasan which at that time was still named IAIN SUNAN AMAPEL organization currently in office at PERUM GRAHA KENCANA BLOK LMN 12 this is the first time HMI come into Madura earth, in other words HMI in STAIN Pamekasan is the oldest than others of HMI commissariat on Madura Island.

c. The Aim of HMI
The clear goals required by an organization, so any work done by these organization can be implemented in an orderly and purposeful that the purpose of an organization is influenced by motivational basis of its formation status and functions in the totality of the life of the nation Indonesian, so HMI is an organization that is based on Islam’s status as a student organization that serves as the nation’s youth and serves as a cadre organization.
Stabilization function cadre of HMI is coupled with the fact that the Indonesian people are very shortage will force intellectual, who has the balance of life that united the fulfillment of tasks the world and the hereafter, science and faith individual and society, which demands that the greater the intellectuals in the future.
On the basis of these factors, so HMI set its aim as defined in five articles of the articles of association HMI. Constructed human academies, creating, serving, which base on Islam and responsibility for the realization of a just and prosperous society that is blessed by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.  By that formulation, so essentially the HMI is not mass organization in terms of physical and quantitative. But HMI otherwise HMI is institutional dedication and developing idea qualitatively and must educate, led and lead it is members to get a purpose by struggle which really effectively. 
The purpose of HMI STAIN is not different with a purpose of HMI generally, it just HMI STAIN is branch of which is on faculty classes.


3. Motivation
a. Definition of Motivation
Motivation is kind of internal drive which pushes someone to do thing in order to achieve something. In his discussion o motivation, Douglas Brouwn includes the need for ego enhancement as prime motivator. This is need for the self to be known and to be approved by other.  Motivation is a energy change within the person characterized by affective arousal and anticipatory goal reactions. In other word motivation can also mean as encouragement to someone to do something in order to get a positive and good result, either it internal encouragement or external encouragement. Motivation is the attribute that moves us to do or not to do something. It means that motivation something that moves our mind to do or not to do something. Here, there are two kinds of motivation, such as intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation that all motivation influences someone us to do or not to do something.
b. Types of Motivations
1) Intrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic motivation is motives to be active without stimulation from outside, because in a person there is encouragement to do something. For example, someone who loves a reading, there is no who orders or encourages, he must find out some to be read.  So, intrinsic motivation can be call as encouragement or stimulation which is come from someone’s itself without outside stimulation to do something.

2) Extrinsic Motivation
Extrinsic motivation is motives which is active when there is outside encouragement or stimulation. Extrinsic motivation can also called as motivation terms which is inside learning activities is begin base on outside encouragement which is not absolutely reaction with learning activities.  From this explanation, Extrinsic motivation is outside encouragement to someone in order to do something. From example student will study so that get a good value.
So from two differences of motivation can be conlude that motivation in learning will come when encouragement internal or external, in this case HMI try to become a encourager to the university students by some roles which is doing in order member of HMI after there is out encouragment they can encouraged by themself to learn english language.

c. Function of Motivation
Oemar Hamalik said that there are three fucntion of motivation:
1) Encourage human to do, so it as booster or engine which waive a energy. Motivation it mean that is one of encouragement way from every activity which will doing.
2) Determine course action that is purpose direction which intend to achieve. By the it motivation can give direction and actvity which must be done suitable with focus direction.
3) Select activity, namely choose actions which must be done and compatible to get a purpose, by the reject activities which is not benifit to it course. 
From the statements above, that motivation have a fucntion as encouragement, director, and as encouragement someone to get a direction. In learning process teacher is very important to do as motivator in order to efforts it function by the way fill necessary of student.

4. Learning
a. Definition
Learn in generally is an interaction between student and teacher or study from surrounding that possibly to change the learner behavior, or from learner do not know to know.  According behaviorism opinion, learning is transmission knowledge from expert to novice.  Base on this concept learning is one activity to get knowledge from any source likes teachers, book and from experience.
While learning in language is a linguistic process with three interconnected areas: learning language, learning content through language, and learning about language. And other opinion learning is a process of participating in cultural and social practices. This process structures and shapes cognitive activity. Learning a foreign language therefore means engaging with the L2 environment, an environment that is constituted by cultural, societal and institutional practices.  Language learning is a kind of imitation. When teacher says anything or read any text, the learner also tries to imitate that. So teacher should have innovative ideas so that it can make this activity very affective.  So that learning is one activity to language acquisition from imitate to the teacher.
The commend to learn is very clear in hadith of prophet Muhammad saw
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : طلب العلم فريضة على كل مسلم ومسلمة
Prophet Muhammad SAW has said: look for knowledge is obligation to everyone that all of male and female.  Look for knowledge is obligation to humans during the humans is life in world. In look for knowledge is nothing limits and spaces. But, researcher makes underline, that look for knowledge must not focus in formal education likes schools, campus and others formal education. But look for knowledge is very eminent and knowledge it is can gotten from any sources. 
In a poem of Sheikh Muhammad son of Hasan and son of Abdillah.
تعلم فان العلم زين لاهله ♯ وفضل وعنوان لكل المحامد
Meaning:
Learn of knowledge be decorated for learner. Knowledge also is becomes superior and signs for every something most praise. 

وكن مستفيدا كل يوم زيادة ♯ من العلم واسبح فى بحور الفوائد.
Meaning:
Look for knowledge every day, in order that knowledge is more and more increase ♯ and look for a profits, although swim in profit-sea. 
So, from this case leaner must be diligent to study or look for knowledge because the knowledge gives benefit to learner’s life. In look for knowledge the learner must understand to materials that learned. Teacher is success when the teacher able to pours knowledge to the students, and students be success when the students achieved knowledge from teacher.

b. The Requisites in Learning
In everything, more especially in learning process to gat knowledge there are many requisites must done by learner in order that to get knowledge maximally. Our honorable, Ali was made rhyme about some requisites in learning process that must done by learner, likes below. 

الا لاتنال العلم الا بستة ♯ سانبيك عن مجموعها ببيان
Meaning:
Remember, actually you do not get knowledge accept do six requisites ♯ that will explain all of requisites clearly as below:
ذكاء وحرص واصطبار وبلغة ♯ وارشاد استاد وطول زمان
Meaning:
Cleaver, Diligent, Patient, Have many ♯ Teacher’s instruction And have long time.
Cleaver here is normal people or people that have not physical defect. While, diligent is some people or learner that have high diligence or high discipline in his or her study. While, patient is people that have a patient in everything likes patient when learner feel tired in study, or have material difficult, moreover although  the learner have a killer teacher. While, have money is student that have many to pay and able to give expense that need in learning activity, likes to buy some books, administration and other needing. While teacher’s instruction here is learners have a teacher or any source that they are can to take information from them. And the last is have long time, it mean that the learner have enough time to study until he or she gets knowledge.
So that learner must complete the six requisites to get knowledge maximally.

c. Learning Strategy
In learning activity there are three categories strategy lakes Metacognitive strategies, Cognitive Strategies, Socioaffective strategies. 
1) Metacognitive Strategies
Metacognitive strategies is a terms used in information processing theory to indicate an executive function, strategies that involve planning for learning, thinking about the learning process as it is taking place, monitoring one’s production or comprehension, and evaluating learning after an activity is completed. 
2) Cognitive Strategies
Cognitive strategies is more limited to specific learning task and involve more direct manipulation of the learning material itself. 
3) Socio affective Strategies.
Socio affective strategies have to do with social mediating activity and interacting with others. 

d. Types of Learning
In learning process there are eight types of learning. 
1) Signal Learning
The individual learns to make a general diffuse response to a signal
2) Stimulus-Response Learning
The learner acquires a precise response to a discriminated stimulus.
3) Chaining
What is acquired is a chain of two or more stimulus -response connections. The conditions for such learning have also been described by Skinner.
4) Verbal Association
Verbal association is the learning of chains that are verbal. Basically, the conditions resemble those for other   (motor) chains.
5) Multiples Discrimination
The individual learns to make a number of different identifying responses to many different stimuli, which may resemble each other in physical appearance to a greater or lesser degree. Although the learning of each stimulus response connection is a simple occurrence, the connections tend to interfere with one another.   
6) Concept Learning
The learner acquires the ability to make a common response to a class of stimuli even though the individual members of that class may differ widely from each other. The learner is able to make response that identifies an entire class of object or event.  
7) Principle Learning 
In simplest terms, a principle is a chain of two or more concepts. It functions to organize behavior and experience.
8) Problem Solving
Problem solving is a kind of learning that requires the internal events usually referred to as “thinking”. Previously acquired concept and principles are combined in a conscious focus on an unresolved or ambiguous set of event.
So from the statement above it can be concluded that the definition of learning motivation is the overall driving force both from within and outside the student (by creating a series of efforts to provide certain conditions) that ensure continuity and provide direction to learning activities, so that the goals desired by the subject of learning it can be achieved.




5. Previous Study
The first is have done by Suwaibatul Khoirot, the title is “The effect of English Course Program on Students Reading Comprehension at Seventh Grade of MTs. Tarbiyatus Shibyan Walbanat” Thesis: English Teaching Learning Program Tarbiyah Department the State of Islamic College (STAIN) Pamekasan, 2012. She use quantitative approach, which is analyse the data with statistical procedure. The result of this research is showed that is there influence of english course program on Students reading conprehension at Seventh Grade of MTs. Tarbiyatus Shibyan Walbanat, it is proven by comparing r count to r table. The value of r count= 0,485 and the value of r with N = 36 in level significance 5%= 0,329 and in level significance 1% = 0,424. So the value of r count greater than r table. When the researcher consult r count = 0,485 with table interpretation “r” product moment, the value of r count = 0,485 is in 0,40 till with 0,70 in the level of sufficient interpretation.
The second is have done by Normala Hayati, the title is “The Comparison Between Students Who Takes English Course and Those Who don’t take English Course to The Students English Achievement at SDN Pademmawu Timur 5 in Kwanyar Pademmawu, (Thesis: Enlish Teaching Learning Program Tarbiyah Department the State of Islamic College (STAIN) Pamekasan, 2012. She uses quantitative approach. And the result of this research is showed that there is a significance between Students who take English Course and those who do not take English course to the Students’ English achievement at SDN Pademmawu Timur 5 in kwayar Pademmawu. The significant at the level of 0,05. It is proven that the obtained t-value is bigger than t-table (3,472>2,021).























CHAPTER III
RESEARCH METHOD

The researcher focuses explains about the research design that used in this research, like approach and kind of research, attendance of research, research setting (location), data source, data collection procedure, data validity, data analysis, data display and research steps.

A. Approach and Kind of Research
This research the researcher uses qualitative approach. Qualitative research is best suited to address a research problem in which you do not know the variables and need to explore.  And also Qualitative research is an inquiry approach useful for exploring and understanding a central phenomenon.  From this statement qualitative approach is one of method that uses when the researcher to do research.
In this case the researcher using descriptive research because on this study to describe the data or to explain the data. It’s meant that research procedure have result of descriptive data as writing words or the data. collecting as word, pictures and not numbers. Descriptive research is the data that taken from some words, pictures, and it is does not use a statistic. 
The researcher used this approach because the research will produced some innovations that cannot achieve by using statistic procedure. And to make easy to find developing phenomena because this research focus on The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English.

B. Attendance of Research
In qualitative research researcher must attendance to the field. So, the researcher must know the real condition or situation in location. Researcher is as the research instrument.  Researcher attendance in the field is needed, because the researcher as main instrument also as data collector to get data or information which needed by researcher.
To get data the researcher must coming to the area look for information from guidance and the university students who follow course which conducted by secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan. Because they are important to ask some information. The aim from information is to answer the question in research focuses and research objective.
The researcher does this research in this place, as long as one month 01-30 November 2017, and once in a week. To get a data the researcher must come to the area to look for information from teacher and students because they are most important asked some information. The aim is to answer the question in research focus and research objective.

C. Research Setting (Location)
Research setting is a place chosen by the researcher to do the research. So, the researcher is considers to chose a place. The researcher chooses in secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan, because the researcher has some reasons, the first reason is this location not only collecting English department university students, but all of department in STAIN Pamekasan. The second is the location suitable with the topic of my study, so, the researcher will be easy to do observation. So, the researcher will conduct to do research at Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan.

D. Data Source
Data source is a subject where the data can obtained.  The data source in this research is like words by meant of observation, interview and documentation, there are two subjects or sources to get data:
1. From University Student who take course
The data will get from University Student who takes course likes course time.
2. From Tutor
The data will get from tutor course material which given by tutor to member of course in Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan.

E. Data Collection Procedure
Collecting data it means is for identifying and selecting individuals for a study, obtaining their permission to study them, and gathering information by asking people questions or observing their behaviors.  Most general source are using in qualitative research are interview, observation, and documentation. Therefore, the researcher to collect data which will divide the procedure of the collection to three instruments namely are observation, documentation and interview.
1. Observation
According to Creswell, Observation is the process of gathering open-ended, firsthand information by observing people and places at a research site.  Observation is done by researcher to see a subject in field until by observation the researcher can collect the data easily. There are many kinds of observation.
a. Participant Observation
Participant observation is the researcher participates in activity  the researcher’s status will be known generally that researcher as look for the data suitable with the target of his/her researcher.
b. Non participant observation
The researcher did not participated in activity, but the researcher only look for in activity, or he/she did not follow on continued activity.  
In this study, the researcher used non- participant observation caused the researcher only look for directly in class when the course program happened. It means that the researcher come to the location to get data. And the researchers do not participate in learning process.





2. Interview
Interview is a conversation which purpsed to specific problem and one of question/answer process orally where there are two peoples or more who face to face physcally.   It means that interview is technique to get data by conversation and face to face with someone that they can give data to the researcher. There are two kinds of interview in wide level.
a. Structured Interview
which used because information which is need in research was definite, and the questions was permanet can’t change.
b. Unstructured Interview 
it more smooth, detail, and free in interview process than structured interview. 
In this research, the researcher uses unstructured interview, because the researcher want to know or to get data more detail about English course program,  the university student’s name list who take course. This interview will interview to tutor and member of English course. And also using unstructured interview that more flexible. So, the researchers do not preparation before conducting an interview.

3. Documentation
Creswell stated that documents consist of public and private record that qualitative researcher obtain about a site or participants in a study and they can include newspapers, minutes of meeting, personal journals, and letters. 
There are documentations that the researcher will collect, namely: 
a) the university Students name list who take English course, 
b) Photos during the process interview when get of data
c) Photos when the course program continuities
d) The book that used in HMI English Course.
F. Data Validity
Validating finding means that the researcher determines the accuracy of credibility of the findings through strategies such as member checking or triangulation . To determining the accuracy of credibility, the researcher uses two steps as below:
1. Triangulation
Triangulation is the process of corroborating evidence from different individuals, types of data, or methods of data collection, in descriptions and themes in qualitative research.  The researcher uses triangulation to assess the accuracy of the result of data research by involving the data sources of information and examining it. In this case, the researcher uses one of triangulation types, is triangulation bases on types of data. Types of data used by the researcher to assess the accuracy of finding in the using triangulation are observational field note and the result of interview.
In this research, the researcher will use triangulation to check the validity of data using source triangulation, because the researcher was thinking that method is easier in checking data validity that gotten in the field.
G. Data Analysis
Data analysis is defined as a process of reducing and organizing the data, synthesizing, searching for significant patterns, and discovering what is important.  The qualitative data analysis is an efforts that the researcher do with the data, organize the data, choose the data to be a unit that can managed by the researcher, to syntactical the data, search and get the pole, finding the important and what is studied about, and decide what the researcher can tell to another people.  Ary also stated that data analysis is a process whereby researchers systematically search and arrange their data in order to increase their understanding of the data and to enable them to present what they learned to others. 
Data analysis involves reviewing the data while they are being collected and attempting to synthesize and make sense out of what observed. Data analysis is makes a data more simple until the data easier to read and interpretation.  So, data analysis is one activity that done by researcher to cluster the data, classified the data to make easier when the researcher to get conclusions. After data have gotten, the researcher will do process data by using steps as below: 
1. Data Reduction
Data reduction refers to the process of selecting, focusing, simplifying, abstracting, and transforming the data that appear in written-up field notes or transcriptions.  In this steps the researcher will editing process of the data, or researcher will decide the data and chosen to the important data which is suitable with research focus, and completed the blank notes, making clear the symbols until be complete sentences. 
The researcher only focuses to the data will discuses, selected, and reduced unsuitable data. To get the valid data, the researcher classifies the important of  The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English.

2. Data Display
Generally, a display is an organized, compressed assembly of information that permits conclusion drawing and action.  In this step, after reducing the data, the researcher will reedit the data and cluster the data which is base on answer of English teacher, students and other source and then the researcher take conclusion. And then the researcher shows the conclusion based on the data that the researcher got from observation, interview, and documentation after display. Until the data answer to the research problems.

H. Research Steps
In this step, the researcher will give explanation all of steps that will do by researcher as below:
1. Pre Research.
Before the researcher doing a research, the researcher doing pre-research first, in pre-research there are asking permission, coming to the location, interviewing, sharing the problems with the teacher, determining the title and research focus, That all the steps will done by researcher.
2. The Process of Research.
In this Process of Research are include, The first the researcher begun by coming to research location to collect the data by using interview, observation, and documentation. And the next, after the collecting the data, the researcher will analysis the data to obtain the valid data.
3. The Data Analysis Process  
In this step the researcher will analyzed the data which are got from interviews, observations and documentations. And then, the researchers will classify the data based on focus of the study.








CHAPTER IV
RESULT AND DISCUSSION OF RESEARCH


The researcher explains about finding and discussion of research base on answer of research focus, these are How the English Course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English increasing the university student’s motivation in learning English? And How the the rolesof  English Course Which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English?

A. Result
In this points, it is explains about the result of research related to research focus gotten by some instrument, are observation, interview and documentation. The first, researcher presents about The Implementation of English Course Which Conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in Learning English. The second, researcher presents the result of data about the roles of English Course Which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English. These data were gotten by observation and interview along one month namely on 01-30 November 2017.
1. Result of observation
the first activity will do by researcher is orservation to the location to get the data
for the first observation conducted by researcher On Tuesday is the meeting which researcher came to do observation and got the data how the tutor/teacher dilivert a lesson as follow:
a. Tutor/teacher said “assalamua’alaikum wr. Wb.”
b. And then explain the lesson in detail.
c. And then after finished explanation of lesson, tutor/teacher give a time for the all members of course to ask some questions or give some opinions which related with the lesson.
d. Tutor/teacher gives or answers the question from the member if there is.
e. If there is no question from member of course, the tutor/teacher who give some question and order to up hand for the member who can answer the question.
f.    And the tutor orders to all of members to practice the lesson which learned.
g. After learning finished, tutor/teacher give some vocabularies to the member of course to memorized and will in the ask in the next meeting. 
And then the tutor did not forget to give encouragemet to the cadres and knowledge that the english course is very important in this age. 
On Friday meeting English course the researcher got a data done by some steps of the tutor as follow:
a. Tutor/teacher said “assalamua’alaikum wr. Wb.”
b. And then instruct to all of member to present their memorizing by using complete sentence.
c. And then after finished tutor/teacher give a new lesson.
d. And then the tutor give a time for the all members of course to ask some questions or give some opinions which related with the lesson.
e. Tutor/teacher gives or answers the question from the member if there is.
f.   If there is no question from member of course, the tutor/teacher who give some question and order to up hand for the member who can answer the question.
g. And then tutor orders to all of members to practice the lesson which learned.
h. After learning finished, tutor/teacher give some vocabularies to the member of course to memorized and will in the ask in the next meeting. 
And then for the second observation which  done by researcher And the tutor use the discussion method to deliver a lesson because in learning process there is answer question and the roles of English Course come from the roles of the organizer of secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan because the English course is arrange by the organizer of HMI and always to give an spirit to the cadres to increase the University Students’Motivation in learning English english course is use discussion method.

2. Result of interview
a. The Implementation of English Course which conducted by Secretariat of Islamic Association of University Students (HMI) STAIN Pamekasan Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English
Base on data get from interview, the Implementation English which conducted by secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan is done twice in a week namely in Tuesday and Friday, and program  is start from 02:00 (after ashar) until 04 30. As the result of interview as follow:
“Pelaksanaan kursus bahasa inggris adalah dua kali dalam seminggu, yaitu hari selasa dan jumat jam 2:00 setelah ashar dan yang menjadi tutor adalah saya KABID PPPA dan sekretaris saya. Pada hari selasa merupakan bagian saya dan pada hari jumat adalh bagian sekretaris saya. Walaupun sudah terjadwal kami hadir setiap kursus bahasa inggris berlangsung  karena kami ingin membantu satu sama lain untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada kader yang ikut kursus, contohnya ketika ada suatu pertanyaan dari kader dan sekretaris tidak bisa menjawab atau kurang faham maka saya membatu memberikan pemahaman kepada kader”.
“The implementation of English Course is twice in a week namely on Tuesday and Friday at 02:00 (after ashar) and who become a tutor is me KABID PPPA and my secretaris, on Tuesday is my section and on Friday is my secretaris section but, although had schedule I present in every English program continuality because we help another to give knowledge to the cadres who joined English course, for example there is one question from one of cadres who my secretaris is not understood, so I help to give answer and otherwise”. 

And that is supported by the result of interview:
“Dalam aktifitas kursus bahasa inggris di komisariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan pertama kali membuat jadwal yaitu pada hari selasa adalah bagian KABID saya dan pada hari jum’at adalah bagian saya sendiri. Akan tetapi setelah berjalan selama dua minggu kami sepakat untuk hadir pada setiap kegiatan, tapi yang menjadi guru utama tetap yang mempunyai jadwal dan saya hanya membantu jika ada pertanyaan dan memberikan tambahan pendapat agar para kader lebih faham pada materi yang di sampaikan”.
“In activity of English course in secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan from the first we have made a schedule, namely is on Tuesday is my KABID section and on Friday is my section. But, after it done one a week we decided to came all in every English course activity, but who become a central teacher is who has a schedule and I just help if there is a question and give addition opinion in order that the cadres more understand about the lesson which is presented”. 

As for the lessons which would be studying in this course is not so deferent with in other English namely:
a. The eight part of speech 3 times meeting.
b. Imperative, prohibition and request once meeting.
c. Suggestion let us twice meeting.
d. Preposition in on at once meeting.
e. Auxiliaries and tenses twice meeting.
f. Question word, sentence three times meeting.
g. Grammar 14 times meeting 
One of member said that
“saya bisa termotivasi untuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang hampir sama dengan kegiatan wajib di komisariat yaitu diskusi walaupun tidak ada moderatornya, tapi kita akan tau dari tutor tentang apa yang sudah di fahami tentang pelajaran dengan adanya diskusi dan pengaplikasian langsung”
I can motivated to study English language with the method which almost resemble with study which in it there is discussion although there is no moderator, because we will knew by the tutor/teacher what is understood about the lesson with there is discussion and direct application”. 
“Dan saya merasa senang ketika pelajaran kita praktekkan dengan teman”
“And I was be happy when the lesson is practiced with my friends”.  
“Pelajaran yang disampaikan oleh tutor membuat saya lebih semangat belajar karena itu merupakan dasar bahasa Inggris dan menggunakan strategi diskusi dalam penyampaian materiyang sangat cocok dengan kegiatan kami sehari-hari yaitu diskusi entah itu formal atau tidak formal”
“The lesson which presented by the tutor can make me to more spirit in learning because it is basic of English language and strategy to present using discussion method which is very suitable for us because every day we always discussion formal and non formal discussion”. 
From result of interview and observation above the implementation of English Course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pameksan uses discussion method which almost resemble with discussion method just there is no moderator because saw by the implementation there is question/answering season which can motivate the members more spirit and active in learning English. 
b. The Roles of English Course which Conducted by Secretariat of Islamic Association of University Students (HMI) STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in English Learning.

First activity had gotten permit from a chief of secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan researcher doing observation first to know the roles of English course which conducted by Seceetariat HMI STAIN  in increasing the university student’s motivation in learning English. The researcher came to the secretariat HMI STAIN and do to research the manager and cadres activities in learning English.
From the data which had gotten by interview in secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan. To increase the university student’s motivation in learning English, organizer of Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan doing English program which is purpose to motivate the university student who joined in HMI in order to spirit in learning English. As the results of interviews as follow:
“faktanya dalam meningkatkan semangat belajar bahasa inggris mahasiswa pengurus HMI yang mengadakan kursus bahasa inggris dan tentunya mempersiapkan beberapa strategi yang memberikan semangat pada kader khususnya yang ikut kursus, dengan melaksanakan kursus dan memberikan pemahaman bawa bahasa inggris sangat penting pada saat ini. Ini sangatlah penting untuk mendorong semangat kader yang ikut kursus yang mempunyai potensi yang bervariasi. Srategi ini merupakan program kerja yang di pegang oleh KABID PPPA ia mempunyai rencana untuk mengadakan kursus bahasa inggris agr semua anggota HMI bisa berbahasa inggris mengingat bahsa inggris sangat penting untuk melanjutkan sekolah mereka”.
“Actually in increasing the university student’s motivation in learning English orgnizer of HMI who arranged english course and  of course prepare strategies give a spirit to cadre especially who take English course by do English course and give knowledge that English language is very important in this age. This is important to encourage cadre’s spirit who takes English course which is have varieties potential. This strategies is one of work program which is conducted by KABID PPPA she have planning to do English course in order to all member of HMI can speak English think of the it is very important to continue their education”. 


This also supported by interview result with the head of the field PPPA who conducted that English Course as follow:
“kami selalu berusaha mewadahi keinginan yang di miliki oleh para kader dan mengadakan beberapa program kerja yang bisa mendorong dan mengakomodir  keinginan para kader, khususnya dalam belajar bahasa inggris. Kami tidak mendatangkan tutor dari luar akan tetapi kami handel sendiri yaitu saya dan sekretaris saya kebetulan kami adalh jurusan bahasa Inggris di STAIN Pamekasan. Dalam aktifitas ini kami hanya sebagai partner dalam belajar, jadi para kader tidak tertekan dalam belajar karena mereka mempunyai keingnan yang berbeda-beda memotivasi para kader dalam belajar bahasa Inggris harapannnya agar para kader semangat baru dalam belajar bahasa Inggris.”
“We always effort to contain a ambition and potential which owned by the cadres and arrange some works program which is able to encourage to accommodate cadres ambition, especially in learning English. We do not bring a teacher from outside but we handled by myself and my secretais it is casual we are English department at STAIN Pamekasan. In this activity we just as partner in learning, so cadres did not suppressed in learning. Because the cadres have deferent wish. Motivated to cadres in learning English, hope fully to give new spirit to cadres who joined in English course. 

It also supported by a result of interview with one of cadre who joined in English Course as follow:
“program kerja yang di jadwalkan oleh pengurus sangat baik dan itu mewakili keinginan para kader, pengurus sering mengadakan aktifitas khususnya kursus bahasa inggris. Dengan adanya kursus bahasa inggris kami merasa terwadahi karena kami anggota HMI tidak semua dari jurusan bahasa inggris, jadi kami bisa belajar bahasa inggris walaupun bukan di kampus. Mengingat pentingnya bahasa inggris saat ini. Dalam kegiatan kursus ini saya rasa sangat effektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa inggris kami, dan tidak kalah pentingnya walaupun kami bukan jurusan bahasa inggris, kami mempunyai wadah untuk belajar bahasa inggris dengan adanya program yang di adakan pengurus presidium HMI STAIN Pamekasan.”
“Worked Program which is in scheduled by manager is very good and it is represent from cadre’s wish organizer often arrange activities  the especially English course. With the existence of this course we feel embodied because we member of HMI are not all of English major, so we can learn English language although not in college. Remember the importance of English language in this age. In this course I’m feel is very effective in increasing the motivation in learning English to us, and it is not less importance although we are not English major, but we have a contain to learn English language with there is course program which arranged by organizer of presidium HMI STAIN Pamekasan”. 

Same the case with the statement imam he said:
“Dengan cara pengurus HMI STAIN Pamekasan khususnya KABID PPPA yang memiliki program kerja untuk mengadakan kursus bahasa inggris saya merasa senang pada saat RAKER pengurus HMI STAIN Pamekasan dan memotivasi untuk belajar bahasa inggris karena pengurus telah menyiapkan bagi kami untuk menambah pengetahuan bahasa inggris. Selain itu setiap pertemuan tentu kami selalu di berikan suguhan bahwa bahasa inggris sangat penting”. 
“By the ways of manager of HMI STAIN Pamekasan especially KABID PPPA who have a work program to arrange the English course I’m feel happy at the time a RAKER activity of organizer HMI STAIN and also was motivated to learn English language because organizer have prepared to us to add knowledge about English language. Moreover every meeting of course we always gave a statement that English language is very important in this age. 

From the result of interviewed above of researcher, it can be conclude that to increase the University Students ‘motivation in Learning English is organizer of secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan who arranged English course which gives some knowledge about the important English Language in this age. Explain the purpose of it course and also give a rewards to the member of course who was spirit in learning in order to become a example to other member, and use discussion way to explore a lesson with the result there are some something funny because all of member must use English language when English course continuity. So, know or not must use English. To member who break, so they given a punishment which must telling a story in front of member of course. and also the organizer give a contain to cadres to learn English by arranged English program like that because they want all of member can use English language because is not all member are English department.







B. Discussion
Islamic Association of University Students (HMI) branch of Pamekasan Secretariat STAIN is one of extra-college in STAIN Pamekasan, which built to create generation of religious community and nation who qualified like a destination of HMI which is written in AD-ART HMI namely “Contracted human academies, creating, serving, which base on Islam and responsibility for the realization of a just and prosperous society that is blessed by Allah SubhanahuWata’ala. Because of it the manger of secretariat of HMI STAIN Pameksan doing a program which is purpose to get a destination of HMI itself, of course it is not easy, it needs to group working from some sides the main from the organizer of HMI itself, until the work program which is scheduled can be doing maximally, there are many programs which contained by organizer one of them is English Course, hopefully in order to increase the university student’s motivation in learning English.
In this point, it discusses about the result of research by correlating with any theory. The first, researcher discuss about the roles of Islamic association of university student (HMI) in increasing the university student’s motivation in English learning through English course. The second the English Course Which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English.
1. The Implementation of English Course which Conducted by Secretariat Islamic Association of University Students (HMI) STAIN Pamekasan in Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English
In this section the result of research about the English course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan, English Course is a training institute which included into the types of non formal education units which consist of course institution, training institute, study group, learning center, and the assemble of study group and educational unit of it is kind.  In other definition English Course is an intuition of teaching process English specific for try to ability the Students in foreign language that is done certain time. 
So, English course which conducted by secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan is one effort to increase and developing the University Students motivation in order to know about English Course. And the implementation of English course in secretariat HMI STAIN is six months base on result interview and to KABID PPPA said that English course which conducted by us is six months it is the same with the learning process in university. 
English course is one of training to increase and developing the English knowledge which doing in near time and just focuses in one of the topic namely English Language.
HMI was doing English course twice in a week, namely on Tuesday and Friday. In presenting of a lesson is not different with another English course because this English course is a institute of learning which is doing during six months same with active study on STAIN college.
learning method of English course which conducted by organizer of HMI STAIN Pamekasan used discussion method, training, practice and don’t forget in final learning there is evaluation to determine a success.
Using of discussion method is one of method which is suitable to cadres of HMI because there are three main activity  namely reading, writing, and discussion. In English course program in HMI STAIN Pamekasan, cadres usually used discussion method because they try to give opinion about their materials which was studying and defend their opinions about a lesson was explained by tutor. 
According the theory, discussion method who learner active speak up or write, interactively communicates their argumentation to another learner, clarification, defend, explore, and explain their thinking. In this process, learning process build a knowledge with make relation between meaning and new concept which got with knowledge which their knowledge. Because this method use intellectual, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.  So member of course try to speak up although any mistakes in explore their thinking and this way according KABID PPPA is match in learning process and very motivated because who learned English course is university students.
Motivation come from surprise when find out ideas which is before not think. Motivation also come from compare self and another and from competition. Finally, motivation also come from skillfulness. 
From some theories and discussion above English course which conducted by secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan was doing twice in week namely on Tuesday and Friday, and then the lesson which presented is base on English language itself, and who become a tutor is KABID PPPA and her secretaries and used discussion method, so the cadres can motivated and spirit in learning English, because HMI itself have a custom namely is reading, writing, discussion, these are related by the method which used in English course program.
2. The Roles of English Course which Conducted by Islamic Association of University Student (HMI) in Increasing the University Student’s Motivation in English Learning
To achieve a wish which is hope by secretariat HMI STAIN Pameksan so, the organizer of secretariat HMI STAIN must be pro-active arrange some programs which is to increase the university student’s spirit on study who joined in HMI itself. Of course it is not easy, because of internal and external factors. As for of internal factor is include of solidarity of organizer itself. For example, there is organizer want to arrange the study formally and also informally, although it purpose is same namely to increase quality of cadres itself. As for of external factor is less supporting from outside (college) which forbid all of extra-college organization to do activity or study in college itself, it is very less a quantity of member who present in every study, because the distance of secretariat of HMI is far from the college. So member who is not have private vehicle is difficult to come.
To resolve it problem of course the organizer must do some steps: Now the first steps is doing evaluation meeting and project routinely so the solidarity of organizer and other something can be resolved by good. The second steps is intent in communicate to all of cadres HMI, so problems which be constraint can be resolved.
Interesting is same with shrewdness and motivation, it is also influence in learning activity. Because of it in learning context need raise a interest of study. To raise the interesting on learning there are some ways to be done as follow: make a material/lesson which will learn be so interested and is not be bored. 
To grow a interesting on learning itself, so it need encouraging or motivation which from intrinsic or extrinsic. Which intrinsic motivation is the motivation from someone itself without outside stimulation, while the extrinsic motivation is the motivation which come because there is outside stimulation. So manger of HMI STAIN Pamekasan is become a motivator externally to grow up member motivation in learning English by the way arranged English course program.
In other that there are some strategies to grow up a motivation:
a. Explain the purpose of learning
b. Rewards
c. Competition
d. Praise
e. Punishment
f. Increase an encouragement to students to study
g. Compose a good custom in learning
h. Help a difficulties of student, individually or group
i. Use variety of method
j. Use a good media and must suitable with the purpose of learning process. 
From the statement above is related with the roles of English Course which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan in increasing the university students motivation, because before do the English program the organizer explained the purpose the course program namely in order to all of member HMI can use English language. And also sometimes organizer give a reward to member who is spirit and diligent on study and don’t forget to give a punishment to member who break a learning process English and use discussion in transfer a lesson which is very support in learning process moreover encouragement from a knowledge that English is very important. In learning process the organizer as facilitator who help a member in order to easy in learning in order the happy and spirit on study.
In this case English Course which conducted by HMI representing a functioning media to place cadre friends to be growing the spirit in learning learning English as itself media is widely interpreted each and everyone, items, or event giving opportunity to students to obtaining knowledge, skill, and attitude..  Hence from that hmi with a few strategy wish cadre to can motivate with existence of Ianguage courses program of inggris as media/study event to obtain get knowledge English language and to develop cadre motivation in learning.
Base on data had got from interview and observation the role of English Course which conducted by Secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan in increasing the University students’ motivation is good because come back to the definition of motivation which is encouraging to someone to do activity or no. The roles of English Course which conducted by secretariat of HMI is one of encouragement form to the university students who joined in HMI and English Course, it among give knowledge about the important English language and give a container, it means that tutor it can called by container because they can ready to teach, Azzarnuji said that everyone never got knowledge if there is no six requisites. One of them is teacher who can teach . So, with there is a container which given by the organizer of HMI to the members of HMI especially FKI in order can learn English language.
This way is very effective because is not all of members of HMI is the English department. In learning process there are some factors which are influences of learning among: physic environment like sound, light, temperature, place of sit and the other. Social need which is deferent everyone it is also influence. One of people like collaborates with other, and also who is working group.  So with the existence of English course the members is become accustomed to study together and collaboration work.
So from discussion above the roles of English Course which conducted by Secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan used strategies give a knowledge about the important of English language and give a contain to all of cadres to learn English language by using English course which is become a work program of  PPPA.





CHAPTER V
CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

In this chapter, there are two points presented, are conclusion and suggestion. In conclusion point, it contains about point of all of research result have been discussed before as representative of the understanding toward the research it’s self. Meanwhile, in suggestion point, it contains about the researcher’ view or mind toward what the others could do in dealing with this research by considering the result has been obtained. The suggestion is pointed to lecturer, students, and researcher.

A. Conclusion
1. The Implementation of English Course which Conducted by Secretariat Islamic Association of University Students HMI STAIN Pamekasan Increasing the Student’s Motivation in Learning English.
a. Increase the university student’s motivation in learning English language this is effective because is not all of member of HMI STAIN Pamekasan is English department, so the cadres very motivated by English course.
b. A become the motivation in learning English because the organizer namely the tutor use discussion method.
c. And the tutor is the organizer itself namely KABID PPPA and her secretaries, so the cadres is base full to learn and present their knowledge.
d. The university students’motivation increase saw from enthusiastic when taking english course.
2. The roles of English Course which conducted by Secretariat of Islamic Association of University Students (HMI) STAIN Pamekasn in increasing the university student’s motivation.
a. There are some actions which done by the organizer presidium in increasing the university student’s motivation in learning English HMI at STAIN Pamekasan, one of them give a contain to all member to learn English and give knowledge about the importance of English language in this era.
b. The researcher consider  this way can increase the motivation in learning English in order to all of member can speak up English well. And HMI can be said as the second university after STAIN COLLEGE because they who are not English departmen can learn english language.
c. According the researcher this is very give positive infect to cadres in order to the member of HMI can English speak.
d. To icrease the university student’s motivation in learning english through english course the organizer of HMI is very spirit saw from the their activity which is effective by doing english course.

B. Suggestion
1. The Chief of STAIN Pamekasan
Expected to able to give a special attention to all of extra-college organization  that is very important think in STAIN Pamekasan itself do not give a free to there is some activities which is conducted by extra-college organization like HMI, PMII and also GMNI. So, we can do english in college in order to the can easy to take english course.
2. The organizer of secretariat HMI STAIN Pamekasan
Should be able to give real solution to all of cadres in order to be motivated and spirit in English course program.
3. The cadres of secretariat of HMI STAIN Pamekasan
Should be aware that the activity which arranged by the organizer only to the progress of cadres HMI itself, in order to a purpose of HMI can get and become gold generation of a religious community and nation.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Musyfiq, was born in Sumenep on 24th of Januari 1994. He is the first child of one older brother, Yi’tsabit. His father’s name is Syaifullah and his mother’s name is Uswatun Hasanah. In 2001-2007, he took his elementary school in MI MIFTAHUL-ULUM Rombiya Timur Ganding Sumenep.In 2007-2010, he took his junior high school in MTs  MIFTAHUL-ULUM Rombiya Timur Ganding Sumenep. In 2010-2013, he took his senior high school in MA Is’adul Ummah Pakamban laok Pragaan Sumenep. 

In 2013, he continued his study in a tertiary educational institution, is in STAIN Pamekasan by taking English Teaching-Learning Program, Tarbiyah Department. He joined in Intra-College organization in UKK KOPMA AL-FALAH STAIN 2015-2016 priode as marketing and he also he joined in small group Since of Stupid (SOS) as member and the he joined in Extra-College Organization HMI (Islamic Association of University Students) 2014-2015 as Departement pustaka graduated from the college in 2017 and took his study less than four years.
